Budget

Steve and I believe in Dave Ramsey and his Financial Peace University.  We try to apply Dave's motto "Live like no one else so you can LIVE like no one else" to our daily lives.  It is very important to us that we pay cash for everything so we don't start our life together in debt.

Weddings are STUPID expensive!  It's absolutely insane the amount of debt people take on for this one day.  I think they often times lose sight of the entire reason they're getting married in the first place and focus way too much on what the wedding industry says they "have to do".  I even fall prey to this at times.  I admit I have a "wedding porn" issue (get your mind out of the gutter!) and spend WAY too much time drooling over sites like theknot.com, weddingbee.com and countless other wedding blogs/sites.  I am hoping by publicly admitting what our budget is that it will help me focus more on making our day special for Steve, myself and our guests and less about what everyone else thinks we should be doing.

So here's the nitty gritty.  We are planning a destination wedding in Denver for approximately 150 guest with a mere $10k.  This includes everything wedding related and will not include our rings or honeymoon.  We've made our budget and so far...we're over by $1100.  There are a couple of areas where we can cut some costs yet so I'm not in panic mode just yet.
